The City of Helen announces the winners of Helen's November 2, 2021 election for three commissioner seats (pending certification). Steve Fowler (107 votes), Cliff Hood (86 votes) and Cinnamon Ruston (73 votes) will be sworn into office January 18, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. at the first Commission Meeting of the year. Congratulations to the candidates. Other results were Lee Landress (64 votes), Linda McAllister (62 votes) and Steve Brooks (45 votes).
Helen Police Department is currently accepting applications for P.O.S.T. Certified, Mandated Patrol Officer.
Candidates must be at least twenty-one (21) years of age, possess a valid Georgia Driver’s License, have a High School Diploma or GED and P.O.S.T certified. Eligible candidates will be required to undergo an oral review board, background investigation, pre-employment drug test, and medical examination.
Applications are available at the Helen Police Department or online at http://www.cityofhelen.org/government/city-departments/police-department.html. The position will be opened until filled. Applications will be accepted at Helen City Hall or Helen Police Department located at 25 Alpenrosen Strasse or mailed to Helen Police Department, Attn: Chief Stephens, P.O. Box 280, Helen, GA 30545.
